Bereavement Support
Family bereavement support programs are provided through a combination of professional counsellors and trained volunteer peer support workers.
The model of service provided for bereaved families, relatives, friends and anyone else affected by the sudden and unexpected death of an infant or young child has been developed over many years, initially by SIDS parents in response to families' experiences and wishes.
The current combination of professional counselling and trained volunteer peer support provides an excellent service, which is based on both up-to-date theoretical knowledge and the experiential knowledge that comes from shared experience.
