10 Good Reasons to Support

SIDS and Kids ACT

1) SIDS and Kids ACT supports the ACT and the surrounding regions of NSW, including the Southern Area Health Service

2) Last year SIDS and Kids ACT supported over 98 bereaved families in the ACT region

3) The organisation gives regular safe sleeping seminars to health professionals, child-care workers, midwives and clinicians in the ACT region

4) SIDS and Kids ACT provided information about how to create a safe sleeping environment to the 5000 families of new babies born in the region 2004

5) The number of babies' lives saved since the start of the campaign began is over 4,000 Australia-wide, with 100 in the ACT region

6) There has been an 84% reduction in SIDS deaths between 1990 and 2003

7) The amount of money spent on the Health Promotion campaign between 1990 and 2005 is $1 million

8) SIDS and Kids ACT gave $100,000.00 to the National SIDS and Kids research fund in 2004

9) $13.5 million has been given to research since 1998

10) Without the community support of Red Nose Day, SIDS and Kids would not be able to provide all these fantastic services to the community

Volunteers Needed to sell Red Nose Day product

SIDS and Kids is currently seeking people to help sell our Red Nose Day products in various shopping centres throughout Canberra and Queanbeyan.

Volunteers are need from Wednesday 28th - Friday 30th June, and the shifts are just 2 hours in duration.  If you would like to volunteer please contact SIDS and Kids ACT on 6287 4255.
